Pacifica Pier Prepares for Demolition of the Cafe, 6/8/26

I was out this morning doing another video documenting the state of the pier today.  As I was finishing and about to head home, I noticed the city was putting up barriers.  I decided to stay so that I could documenting anything that might be happening.  The city ended up doing all of the prep work to demolish the cafe.  Then the large excavator that will be used for demolition showed up.  They didn’t end up starting the demolition today, but it looks likely that may happen tomorrow.

Later I’ll post the video I shot in the morning doing my daily documentation of the state of the pier damage.  I also have a timelapse I’m working on, using footage from my webcam.  You can see the pier and cafe sinking.
