Pacman FishFlash Humpback Whale Lunge 8/30/25

That's a sequence of seemingly random words strung together. :-) As explanation: "Pacman" refers to the whale coming up with a wide-open mouth, looking a lot like Pacman. "FishFlash" is when a whale is coming up through a school of anchovies, looking to make a meal of them and the anchovies desperately try to avoid that fate, jumping up out of the water. "Lunge" is when a whale comes partially up out of the water while feeding.

Today I was working on my mountain-sized backlog of photos and came across this sequence I shot from the Pacifica Pier on 8/30/25. I thought "boy, that would've been cool if I was shooting video". So I decided to see how bad it would look if I took my sequence of photos and turned it into a video. It came out a bit better than I expected, but not quite as good as I had hoped. But that's mostly a result of trying to do a slowmo with only 20FPS of images.
