Grace Cathedral AURA show 1/7/26
This one is a little different than my normal photos/videos and I debated whether to include it here on my site, but eventually decided it still generally “fit”. I attended the show yesterday and shot video of the show (which is allowed). It was a beautiful show displayed on the walls and ceiling of the cathedral. I recommend watching this on a large screen/TV and ensure you're watching the 4K version (if your network and device support it).
Since I was doing my best not to obstruct or distract anyone around me with my camera (unlike the woman sitting right in front of me), I shot the entire thing handheld, with the camera below my eye level and no LCD screen enabled. I was essentially shooting blind, just pointing the camera roughly in the direction I thought it should be, and hoping I was capturing the right things and it was generally in focus, still recording, audio levels OK, etc. A couple times I did drop my head down to the viewfinder to try and make sure everything was OK, which accounts for at least some of the occasional "bumpiness". The other bumpiness was repositioning my hands as they got tired, and also trying to point the camera in directions to mostly avoid the woman and her phone in front of me. All-in-all I think it came out better than I was expecting.
I definitely recommend seeing it in person if possible. If not, hopefully this video helps to give an idea of what the experience was like. As of today (1/8/26) there are still some tickets available: https://auragracecathedral.com/
NOTE: I have no affiliation with Grace Cathedral or the AURA show. I'm just someone who watched and filmed it, and enjoyed it.
