Humpback and Dolphin 5/30/25
Outta my way!! As I work my way through my backlog, I started working on my photos from a whale watch trip in Monterey back in May with Blue Ocean Whale Watch. I still have quite a bit to get through from that trip, but when I hit this photo I stopped in my tracks. I had completely forgotten about it, which I find astonishing because after seeing it I now remember how excited I was when I took it and how hopeful I was that it would come out OK. I’m thrilled to see that it came out, and decided to do a post with just this photo instead of burying it with the rest of the photos from the trip. It sure feels like this one deserves a good caption. Caption contest!
Note that the dolphin getting nudged by the Humpback is a Pacific White-sided Dolphin.
