Humpback Whale Surfacing, Moss Landing 5/22/26

"Up from the depths, 30 stories high" .... sorry, child of the 80s and that song popped into my head as I was filming this beautiful whale coming up from below. The water was clear enough that you could see the whale well before it surfaced. And if you watch closely near the end of the first clip you can also see it's tail even though it's still underwater. And because of the mental reference of the above-referenced cartoon, I felt I had to include the shot of at with its head up and out of the water. Not quite 30 stories high, but it was up. :-) I was tempted to actually put the theme song as the sound track, but eventually talked myself out of it.

Footage taken from the deck of the Blue Ocean Whale Watch Boat.
