Humpback Whale Tail Slap and Rainbow Spout, Pacifica 9/25/26

I owe this video to the “photographer’s sacrifice” offered up by my friend Tony.  It was a somewhat slow whale day - while we had 4 whales that were staying in the area and fairly close, it was primarily Backs and Spouts.  Tony eventually declared he needed to leave and commented “and now the action is going to happen, so get ready”.  Sure enough, no sooner had he gotten back to his car, this whale started tail slapping.  I haven’t decided yet whether the whale was waving goodbye, or whether it was taunting Tony, or a combination thereof.  :-)  In any case, it was a nice little show, with a beautiful rainbow spout to end it.
