Kite Surfers, Sharp Park Beach 7/1/26

What a great, fun way to start my drone videography experience.  I finally broke down and got my first drone which arrived late yesterday.  Today I was out learning how to fly it and figuring out how to take photos and videos.  My first two videos were of static subjects (the pier and Mori Pt).  I was just about to call it a day, in large part due to the strong winds which started gusting to 48MPH according to the weather station on my roof.  Then some kite surfers showed up and I decided to “jump into the deep end” with the video, and attempt to get some footage of them.  It was quite a hectic experience, keeping an eye on my drone to make sure I didn’t get too close to the kites, trying to get the camera pointed at the surfers, getting battered by the wind  …. So much going on!  I think it came out reasonably well, all things considered.  It certainly was a fantastic learning experience, and as always - the kite surfers were a ton of fun to watch.
