Waves Against the Wall 10/26/25
On a day like today, when the ocean is surprisingly placid, it seemed like a good day to go back and work on my footage from a day when the ocean was not so calm. I've always loved just watching waves, and really love watching big waves. I've typically looked forward to our "big wave season" here in Pacifica. I'm a little less sanguine about it after a wave crashed through my garage, but that love of the ocean and big waves runs deep. So when some of the first big waves of the season came through last month, I grabbed my camera and shot some video. I've been taking videos and photos of the big waves in Pacifica for over 20 years now, and similar to the sunsets, I just can't seem to get enough.
So, kick back and enjoy some waves. Note that if you're wondering why I zoomed in on the one "little" wave close to the beginning - I love it when the receding wave "collides" (please save the physics arguments about waves "colliding" for another time). Often it shoots up and sometimes very high (I've gotten shots of it going up over 20-30'). This one was a small one, but I still think it's cool and wanted to bring attention to that little detail.
