Fisherwoman pulled out by wave, rescued 6/16/26

A woman fishing on the shore on Sharp Park Beach, Pacifica CA was pulled out by a wave.  She was eventually rescued by another fisherman about 5 minutes later.  This is one (of many) consequences of the pier closing.  There are more people fishing on the beach, which carries the risk of getting caught by a “sneaker wave” (a larger wave than normal) which can pull you out to sea.  This woman was very lucky.  Often these incidents result in a drowning.  Please be careful, we’re forecast to get more of these than we usually get during summer.

Unfortunately I had zoomed this camera out to get a better view of the construction equipment.  So this video is a tight crop-and-zoom, reducing the quality quite a bit.  But you can still see enough of what’s going on.
