Osprey in Australia 6/17/25
High on my photo list has been to get some decent Osprey shots. We met up with one of my wife’s Australia friends and she said she knew a place we could go where there was a good chance we’d see some Osprey. She said the best chance would be around low tide, which happened to be around 6:30am. Given we had a 40min drive, the kids let out a groan and said, “but we’re on vacation!” We compromised to meeting her friend at 7am. Sure enough we managed to find a few Osprey. I shot a ton of shots, but as I was shooting, there were two sequences that stood out in my head, so after downloading the photos I decided to go straight to those two sequences. I just didn’t have the time to go through all of them right now. I was thrilled to see the shots from those two sequences came out pretty well. After I go through the whole set, I may have more to post, but here are a few of the shots.
Just as a note, in case it’s a little confusing, the photos aren’t strictly in chronological order. The photo with the fisherman was actually the first in the sequence and was taken just after the Osprey pulled the fish from the water. I really like that shot, with the Osprey showing who is the king of fishing.
