Pacifica Pier Sees Arrival of Big Crane, 10/22/26

I was out early this morning, in the rain, to try and film the arrival of the “big crane”. I asked one of the crew if they had a nickname for it, like Big Bertha, he laughed and said not yet. This was the start of the deliveries of the crane. It’s going to take 20 trucks to bring all of the crane to the pier. Unfortunately things got a bit slowed down, as they had electrical and/or mechanical issues with the first piece and after several hours still hadn’t resolved it and were unable to get it off the truck. The other 3 trucks that were supposed to unload this morning had to sit idle while they work on the issue with the first section of crane. Later a second, much smaller, crane showed up. That’s the “crane to build the crane”. Feels somewhat meta.
